After completing post-graduate studies at Vancouver’s International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I continued my studies to specialize in Facial Rejuvenation and Cosmetic Acupuncture under the direction of Virginia Doran, one of the leading experts in the field. The principle of Cosmetic Acupuncture is that ‘beauty comes from within’. By seeing how supporting the healthy function of the skin with acupuncture can decrease and prevent the visible signs of aging, I was inspired to research and study cutting edge anti-aging and skin enhancement techniques such as LED light therapy, micro-current face lift and micro-oxygen therapy.
The use of Acupuncture, as supported by the World Health Organization, is a well known treatment for many injuries. Most injuries are caused by minor trauma involving muscles, ligaments, or tendons including sprains, strains, and general stiffness. By targeting precise nerves, needle therapy stimulates specific areas of the brain which in turn release serotonin, endorphins and other naturally occurring pain-killers.
My personal experience includes working with patients who suffer from migraines, sciatic pain, arthritis, frozen shoulder, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, common headaches, insomnia, low energy and fatigue, sports injuries, and many other chronic pain syndromes.
I believe that, in order to be an effective health practitioner, one has to be a well-rounded person who is curious about life and has outstanding listening skills. I am an avid reader and love to research and develop my expertise in Acupuncture and Herbology. I engage actively in physical and mental wellness by participating in yoga, hockey and working out at the gym regularly. My passion for health and beauty led me to Coastal Health Arts Clinic where I am thrilled to offer people anti-aging techniques and treatments that are effective, safe and address the individual needs of my clients.
